Then, start to build up a collection of trendier pieces that will go with the basics you have at hand. Remember, you have a lifetime of building a wardrobe. Take one step at a time.

Know the trends. In other words, stay updated. You can do this by getting your dose of fashion news with your fave mag or with its online edition. Nothing can make you look younger than a wardrobe of right, updated clothes. So know what’s hot and not; pay attention to what looks good today.

But knowing the staples – the pieces that will make a repeat through time – requires some skill. But don’t fret if you don’t have it know; having that knack is a learned skill. Simply skim through the fashion magazines. Notice what the models are wearing? Find something that you like, and know if it looks good on it.

Start a collection of these images. Just have whatever dress design caught your fancy, a cut that will accentuate your features, and even the colors that will look best against your skin. You don’t have to worry about getting organized, let the time do it for you. With time you’ll find that you have developed that skill that can separate the must-haves from a true fashion disaster.
